PROJECT OVERVIEW
KBL Environmental provides heavy haul transportation and logistics support for the Springbank Dam construction project near Calgary, Alberta. The work involves hauling large riprap rock from the Graymont Summit Mine in Coleman, AB, to the dam construction site west of Calgary.
This long-term lane operates year-round, with 6–10 trucks completing two full rounds daily, ensuring a continuous supply of high-quality limestone riprap used for erosion control and slope stabilization.
KBL has successfully serviced this route for over three years, maintaining zero lost-time incidents and consistently meeting client delivery and safety performance targets.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Heavy haul transport of limestone riprap from quarry to project site (~300 km round trip)
- Fleet management and logistics scheduling to ensure consistent delivery throughout seasonal conditions
- Coordination with quarry operations and dam construction teams to align production and delivery schedules
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, ensuring compliance with provincial and client-specific requirements
- Equipment maintenance and operator training to meet performance and safety objectives
