Elize is a Professional Accountant and Business Analyst at KBL Environmental. Originally hailing from South Africa, Elize values efficiency and innovation, and is responsible for keeping KBL at the cutting edge of financial and operational technology.

In her free time, Elize enjoys photography and choral singing.

Chad has been employed at KBL since 2014, playing a key role on the HSE team. Chad holds a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of New Brunswick and complimented this with previous operational roles with over 15+ years in the oilfield & construction industry. Chad is passionate about HSE and brings that passion into helping ensure it continues to be an important component of KBL’s corporate culture.

Nicole Goulet

Manager, People and Culture

Nicole Goulet has been KBL’s Human Resources Business Partner since 2020 and brings an enthusiastic, personable, and collaborative approach to our organization. Before joining KBL, Nicole worked with all Canadian jurisdictions in various industries including construction, geomatics, agriculture, and horticulture. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Management and has her CPHR.

Nicole collaborates with all levels of our organization to create a positive and productive working environment to streamline processes, drive our culture, and support our people from the front line to leadership.

Saad Khan

Assistant Controller

Saad is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Saad possesses extensive expertise in finance and accounting, with a diverse background spanning over eight years in public practice.

He has gained extensive knowledge from leading various audit engagements involving manufacturing concerns, not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions and public companies. His expertise include project planning, team management and mentorship, financial reporting, financial data analysis, key business processes analysis including reporting on internal controls over financial reporting. His career has spanned across various geographies, including South East Asia, Middle East and North America, having worked on special engagements involving mergers & acquisitions, consolidation and group reporting, data migration, new system implementation, business valuation and corporate governance reporting.

He is always keen to maintain a collaborative environment, has a focus on team development and adding value to the organization for its overall success.

He is passionate about acquiring knowledge beyond his professional career, with a keen interest in science. He likes to challenge himself and expand his knowledge horizon by researching on various aspects of how the world works, both in the field of science and economics.

Brett Armstrong

Brett Armstrong

Operations Manager, Utilities

Brett began his construction career in the oilfield as an instrumentation tech then transitioned to the telecom industry.  Brett learned the industry and helped manage the company for 5 years, then returned to the oilfield to become a consultant and project manager for large-scale gas plant and pipeline builds.  From there he joined a successful Pipeline and Facility construction company as the Operations Manager.

For the past 7 years, he has been growing his knowledge and experience within the Telecom industry. Outside of working with the team at KBL, his passions are spending time with his family, and playing and coaching sports.

Andrew Clark

Operations Manager, Logistics

Andrew has been in the transportation industry for 18 years and has worked all over Alberta in the oil and gas transportation sector hauling fluids and bulk solids. He started at the field level supervising daily operations of vacuum and water trucks, eventually managing the daily operations of fluid, bulk solids, and civil construction in Northern Alberta, along with implementation and management of company health and safety programs. Before coming to KBL Andrew managed all aspects of large-scale aggregate hauls moving 1,000,000 plus tonnes of aggregate annually for heavy civil construction and oil and gas projects across northern Alberta.

Jason Cyr

Area Manager, Southern Alberta

Jason is an Area Manager for the KBL Southern AB projects group and has over 25 years of Environmental Industry experience. Prior to joining KBL Mr. Cyr has previously held the positions of Environmental Consultant for 3 years at Newpark Environmental, Project Manager for 9 years at HAZCO Environmental Services, General Manager for 2 years at Frontline Integrated Services and Area Manager for 11 years at SECURE Energy.

Over his career, Jason has managed a wide variety of projects including Site Assessments, Drilling Waste Disposal, Remediation & Reclamation, Demolition & Abandonment, Pipeline Integrity & Maintenance and Environmental Construction. Jason has managed and supervised projects throughout western Canada within various industries including upstream and downstream Oil & Gas, Industrial, Commercial and Government agencies. 

Tyler Delouw

Area Manager, N60

Tyler is a Northern Indigenous Area Manager with KBL Environmental’s Remediation Services, providing senior leadership oversight for complex infrastructure, earthworks, and environmental remediation projects across Northern Canada. With nearly two decades of industry experience, Tyler is responsible for regional operational performance, strategic planning, client and stakeholder relationships, and governance across multiple concurrent projects, including major contaminated site remediations. He has extensive experience in managing high‑risk work in remote, logistically challenging environments, working closely with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and regulators to deliver projects safely, responsibly, and in alignment with community and environmental priorities.

Tyler holds four Journeymen Certificates, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and has attended of the Ivey School of Business – Leadership Program, bringing a balanced approach that bridges strategic leadership with disciplined, field‑driven execution.

James Driscoll

Area Manager, Northern Alberta

James embarked on his industry journey in 1995, amassing a wealth of experience over the initial 14 years in upstream oil & gas across Western Canada, the United States, and Mexico. In 2009, he joined a prominent Calgary-based oil and gas services provider with expansive operations in Western Canada. During this period, James assumed pivotal roles, including Site Supervisor, Dredging Superintendent, and General Superintendent, showcasing resourcefulness and diligence in optimizing project outcomes.

 

Over the past 7 years, James has emerged as a leader at both regional and area management levels. His proactive approach involves identifying opportunities, addressing challenges, and offering strategic solutions for current and future clients and partners. Prioritizing the inclusion of indigenous communities, James is committed to advancing KBL’s associations in this regard. His steadfast belief in KBL’s core values guides the trajectory of the Projects division under his leadership.

Jeff Flett

Operations Manager, Soil Treatment Facilities

With over two decades of dedicated service in the environmental waste industry, I have forged a career defined by passion, expertise, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Beginning my journey in frontline operations in diverse, extreme and formattable environments, I have subsequently been given the opportunity to assume the important role of Operations Manager of Facilities with KBL Environmental. I now have the privilege to lead teams and drive initiatives aimed at sustainable waste management solutions.

My career trajectory reflects a deep-seeded dedication to environmental stewardship and operational efficiency. Throughout my tenure, I have embraced challenges as opportunities for growth, leveraging each experience to refine my expertise and expand my leadership capabilities. Whether orchestrating logistics, implementing safety protocols, or devising strategic initiatives, I have remained steadfast in my pursuit of excellence, continually striving to surpass industry standards and deliver optimal results.

As an Operations Manager  I have had the benefit of overseeing multifaceted facilities and leading diverse teams toward shared objectives. Guided by a vision of sustainability and innovation, I have championed initiatives aimed at minimizing environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency. Through collaboration, innovation, and earnest commitment to best practices, I am honored to play an integral role in shaping the success and reputation of my organization within this industry. 

Looking ahead, I am energized by the prospect of continuing to drive positive change within the environmental waste industry. I am open to embrace new challenges and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of shared goals.

Ryan Gallup

General Manager, Soil Treatment Facilities

As General Manager, Soil Treatment Facilities at KBL Environmental, Ryan Gallup is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of STF operations across all regions. He plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the continued growth of KBL’s soil treatment capabilities in support of sustainable waste management solutions.

Ryan brings over 16 years of experience in the environmental industry, with a diverse background spanning field operations and environmental consulting. His hands-on experience includes work in reclamation and remediation, as well as pipeline integrity digs in highly sensitive environments across Canada. This combination of practical field knowledge and technical expertise allows Ryan to lead with a well-rounded, solutions-focused approach.

Throughout his career, Ryan has developed a strong understanding of both environmental systems and heavy equipment operations, enabling him to effectively bridge the gap between field execution and strategic planning. His leadership style is grounded in collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement—ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest environmental and operational standards.

At KBL, Ryan is focused on advancing Soil Treatment Facility operations to support circular economy outcomes, optimize resource recovery, and deliver reliable, compliant solutions for clients operating in complex and remote environments. His commitment to innovation and operational discipline aligns with KBL’s mission of managing environmental liabilities responsibly while driving long-term value for clients and communities.

Alan McCarthy

Area Manager, Pacific

Mr. McCarthy has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Alan specializes in major civil construction, site remediation, industrial demolition, decommissioning and water treatment projects, and has worked in Europe, Australia and North America.

 

CAITLYN THOMPSON

Operations Manager, Northern Facilities

Caitlyn brings nearly a decade of experience in environmental operations and northern waste management, with deep expertise in coordinating complex logistics in remote and challenging locations. Since joining KBL in 2016, she has advanced from Office Supervisor to Northern Operations Manager, leading facility operations across the Northwest Territories and Yukon. Her hands-on experience spans hazardous waste handling, landfill diversion programs, remediation support, sludge treatment, and winter road logistics for industrial and mining clients.

Caitlyn’s strong technical background includes waste classification and packaging, regulatory compliance, employee training, and safety leadership. She plays a key role in developing scopes of work, coordinating project resources by road, air, and barge, and ensuring high standards of service, safety, and environmental stewardship for northern communities and industrial partners. Her practical field insight combined with operational leadership ensures efficient execution and reliable project outcomes.
