PROJECT PROFILE
KBL supported IOL Norman Wells’ building demolition program by receiving demolition-generated metal materials at KBL’s Metals Recovery Facility in Enterprise, NT. The work helped convert remote-site demolition debris into recyclable ferrous and non-ferrous metal streams while supporting responsible waste diversion in Northern Canada.
The project required practical logistics planning for a remote Norman Wells source location, bulk handling of demolition materials, and safe facility processing of mixed metal streams generated through building decommissioning activities.
SCOPE OF WORK
KBL coordinated receipt and handling of approximately 1,500 tonnes of material over two years. Materials were consolidated, segregated, processed, and prepared for recycling through the Enterprise facility, reducing reliance on disposal and supporting efficient northern material movement.
PROJECT SUCCESS
KBL provided a northern recycling pathway for significant demolition material volumes and helped the client divert metal-bearing material from disposal. The profile demonstrates KBL’s ability to connect remote demolition projects with facility-based recycling infrastructure in the Northwest Territories.
